Who are we?

Brenden Bytheway and Doug May. We're both husbands, fathers, and passionate musicians. We have been hired to write music and do sound for some of the top brands in the world. We have a keen sense of quality and know what these brands expect when looking for music. Our goal is to put that same music into your hands. So you can dramatically increase the quality of your film, from a spec ad, to a demo reel, to a commercial.

Why another music licensing site?

We felt there was a lack of a "middle ground" for filmmakers.
On one end you've got sites with contracts, forms, and personal license inquiries - too much to worry about. You have a million things you have to worry about. Why add one more? Plus, these sites usually end up costing upwards of $300-$500 PER SONG, PER USAGE.
On the other you've got "dime-a-dozen" songs. Any Joe-Schmo (or computer) could throw these songs together. Your film deserves better than that. You've poured your heart and soul into every other aspect of this piece, so why let it fall at the music? Your product is only as good as the weakest link. Don't let it be music because you're on a budget.

So I can use in whatever I want...? Really?

It's true! The music is ROYALTY FREE! You can use these songs in perpetuity in ANY film or commercial you can think of. We're not going to make you jump through hoops trying to figure out the terms. The only thing (which goes without saying) is that you can't resell the music. This is a LICENSE to use the music however you want. You don't OWN the music. If you're using the songs in commercials that will be aired on national television, nationally distributed films, radio, etc the DISTRIBUTOR will be responsible for ASCAP collections. Do I need to obtain a performance license from ASCAP, BMI or SESAC when using your music?

Normally, no. Typically it is the responsibility of Radio, TV, Cable station or other venue that will be broadcasting (performing) the piece. In some situations, however, these venues do not have a Performance Agreement with ASCAP, BMI or SESAC. In these instances the venue may require you to obtain a Performance License.

Why did you decide to do that price range?

We believe in a better product for everybody. We don't want people to go without or feel left out because they can't afford a "boutique" license. Everyone deserves a shot at a quality product. By offering licenses with this price and these terms, we hope we can reach a wide audience of filmmakers, both experienced and those just beginning. We believe in a Karma world. We give back to you and hopefully you'll return the favor by sharing this with everyone you know.

I'm on the fence, is it really worth it?

Let's put it this way. You can stick these songs in a folder that you know you're always safe to use. If you don't have a project RIGHT NOW that would work, down the road something will definitely come up and how nice would it be to have these in your library?

You don't have a style I'm looking for!

Don't worry, we're working on new albums and genres. Remember, we're a small team. We can only put out so much at a time. But we believe by keeping the crew small, we are able to set an incredibly high standard of quality. Nothing will slip through the cracks, and there will never be "filler" music.
